How Spiritual Direction Is Done

Spiritual Direction is done either by meeting in person with Don on some regular schedule (usually monthly) or through phone sessions. Sessions typically last one hour and begin with a centering practice that will serve as an introductory tool for the development of other practices related to your type.Don uses the Enneagram as both a map and compass to help directees see where they are and give them choices in the direction they choose to go. For anyone who is unaware of their Enneagram type an early session will be used as a typing session.Because of the way in which the telephone as a medium focuses attention, sessions on the phone can be very productive. For someone beginning spiritual direction for the first time, an initial commitment of at least six months is appropriate.
